How We Pick Products
Every guide on Plug & Picked follows the same process.
1. Define who it is for
We start with the reader: what phone they use, what they are trying to solve, and what they want to spend. That is why our picks are labeled by need, like "best for iPhone" or "best on a budget."
2. Research the field
We compare manufacturer specifications, warranty terms, software update history, and support reputation. We read reputable expert reviews and look for patterns in long-term owner feedback, especially reliability complaints that show up months after purchase.
3. Check the security basics
For connected devices, we look at whether the maker ships regular updates, supports two-factor authentication on its account, and has handled past security issues responsibly.
4. Keep it honest
Unless an article says otherwise, our guides are research-based and we have not personally tested every product. We will always say so when we have hands-on experience. We list downsides for every pick.
5. Keep it current
Tech changes quickly. We review guides regularly and note the last update date at the top of each article.
